Does anyone else do this with new foods? I bought some big mixes of foods from Hermies Kitchen (two remaining grab bags are up for prizes!) and made a chart to track what the crablets ate and what they passed over so I know what to buy again.
So far in previous offerings only the broccoli was untouched. I can’t quite tell if they sampled the kumquats or not. I’ll leave them another day but you can see they completely devoured some items! They definitely ate the color booster and bee pollen but didn’t finish it off. This AM one crab was eating the bee pollen when I went down for a pic.

You can see the photos over at http://www.allthingscrabby.com for now

So today everything is gone except the kumquats. And by everything I mean there is NO TRACE of any of the other foods. I’m really impressed by the change of eating habits of my crabbies and I will officially be recommending that water be added to any dry food offered. In my tank it has clearly made a difference. I think I will do another test and offer the same food both wet and dry and see which one the crabs are drawn to first.

I keep a notebook on what I feed too. I like noting what they ate and didn’t. It never seems like the eat much. Maybe I put too much in at a time, I don’t know. But I do find lots of poop in the tat so I am assuming they are eating. ONe of my crabs favorites is yellow squash.

I never thought of wetting the dry food, I will have to try this, do you use salt water or just plain de-chlorinated water Stacy?
