Pictures? I’d love to see :) My guys have a nice little burrow they made out of extra moss I put in there for them, they love it, and love to rearrange it almost nightly lol but I enjoy fixing it up for them again each morning. Their fun little guys <3

I have two of the old types of turtle docks and I mount them upside down with moss in them. The crabs camp out for days in there. I wish you could still buy that type of dock as mine are getting pretty banged up after all these year.

What is considered safe moss? I read on this site that pete moss is not safe. Whatever I can do to provide my crabs with things they love, always makes me happy.

Would I have to rinse it in distilled water first?

I buy the moss sold in the reptile section and just wet it with dechlorinated water. When it gets all brown and dried out you can replace it.

Zoo Med Reptile moss? I want to be sure of the exact name, that it is natural. Thank you!

Yes Zoo Med. I usually get the one that says frog moss but I think it’s the same as the terrarium moss.

I just read on Hermit Crab Paradise that Zoo Med terrarium moss isn’t safe, it has dye in it. I don’t know how old the information is, it may be old. I trust Stacy if she says it is safe.
