I'd like to chew the choya again!

Speaking of choya, a few of my pieces of choya wood have become a little dingy. Whenever I see suspicious spots on my choya, I'll take it out of the tank so it doesn't hurt my little friends. Is there any way to "clean" choya wood, or should I just toss it and replace it?

In happy news, I'm celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my hermit crab LG this month!

I had crabs as a kid and now again in my mid 20's, my niece got pinched by her new pet, as did her sister, and so then Sparky, now Karate Sparks became mine. Its been a bit under two years now. I had bought another pp for companionship, Judo Lee and he lasted almost a year but unfortunately got eaten during molting, even though I had several inches of sand/coconut fiber substrate. Bought some new pp companions that went down to molt within short time of arrival, two mediums close in size to Karate. Luckily Karate seems interested in his food dish so hoping no cannibalism, or that the other two don't eat each other. Karate is finally active after molting and being a bit dormant due to New York winters, he has a heat pad and light bulb but still stayed buried. Now interested in learning about making my own hermit crab food, made some tonight and hope he likes it. Pleased to meet you all and hope to share and learn new things.
