Every time my medium crab molts and comes up, his big female tank mate shows agressive behavior towards him. It makes me nervous, I am afraid she will hurt him, when he came up a few nights ago, I decided to put him in the 10 gallon tank because I had to work. When I came home, I put him back in the 40 gallon. She was napping, but a few hours later I took a look and she was chasing him and he was running for his life! I put my hand on her, and very gently tapped her legs, she let go and he ran to the other side of the tank and hid under the plastic plants. He stayed there for a day and a half. So, I took them out to play together on my bed. This time, she went over and climbed on top of him, twice, but didn’t try to grab him. Last night, Tiny was in the faux big cave, and the big girl was playing and climbing. This morning however……………..they are both napping together, Tiny is practically sitting on her shell, and they are nestled together under the plants, behind the crabworx hotel. (maybe they should get a room!) This is the fourth time already, I wonder if maybe she forgets who he is, and it takes a few days for her to remember, hey, I know this little guy! He never tried to attack her, it seems he knows exactly who she is every time, after she comes up, he is sooo happy to see her! But, she gets moody when they aren’t together every day. They have been living together for almost two years. (maybe its time they get married!) I will upload a pic when I can, its too cute!
