Can you attach a picture of max? I mean since today? maybe then one of us can tell if he molted. 🙂

This is Max today, with a quarter next to her for size reference. Jaro is a tiny bit bigger and Tuomo is a little smaller.

Wow cute crab. um, what is a good way to keep the glass clean? My hermit crabs DESTROY my glass!

I have no idea how to keep it clean other than wiping it. I do that every morning and after dinner.

Well, I would be nervous about putting an acid in the tank. But I am still new to this.

Max is doing wonderful. She is eating well and being her normal, annoying self. She dug up little Tuomo earlier. And currently, she is pushing Jaro around.

Hairy legs, needle sharp nails………..sounds like a molt to me! Yay for Max! She molted and then was active right after that? I didn’t know they could do that in one day! I guess her size may have something to do with it, maybe it doesn’t take that long to harden up when you are that small. My tiny crab took two weeks to molt, and the last time he took one month. Did you find her exoskeleton? That is a funny story about the way she hoards the meat! My littlest guy does that, its cute the way he will drag food bits into his cave, or the cork bark log.

I guess he could molt in one day he is a little bigger than a quarter right? if so that its most likely that he molted. 🙂

Well she hasn’t gone under at all. And just upgraded the tank a few weeks ago. And since then, she hasn’t dug and has been active every day. And I noticed a little dent in her big claw that wasn’t there before. So I’m assuming that must have been from a bump when her exo was soft. But she is still getting darker now. I am so excited about my first molt! Now I have to wait for Jaro to molt. She is missing the tip of one her legs. I know she molted half a year ago but I would be happy if her leg was back to normal.

huh thats weird that she never went under at all maybe she did at night. My fingers are crossed for Jaro to molt!!! (yn)

How many hermit crabs do you have? I have 7 but we are taking care of our friends crabs so we have like…… 10 in the tank right now :p

I have 3. Max and Jaro are my ladies I got a year ago today. And I got my mystery crab, Tuomo a month ago.

oh. what do you mean by mystery crab? is he strange? or do you just not know what breed he is? what ever. what is a good flower to feed hermit crabs? if you have fed them at all. Do you have any tips on huts and climbing things? we have a lot of space left in the tank but not enough stuff to put in!!! 🙂
