Hello everyone 🙂 I was active for a couple years on the old site (under the username LittleNom) but dropped off once I moved and got a new job. I’d like to chew the choya again!
Speaking of choya, a few of my pieces of choya wood have become a little dingy. Whenever I see suspicious spots on my choya, I’ll take it out of the tank so it doesn’t hurt my little friends. Is there any way to “clean” choya wood, or should I just toss it and replace it?
In happy news, I’m celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my hermit crab LG this month!
That is FANTABULOUS to have our crab that long…. 🙂 Hope my 4 live that long.
WOW! Um…. I don’t know about the cholla… Mine has been all good…
Boiling in dechlorinated water might do it.
true
I find my choya gets mildewy after too long in the tank.
Things you could try:
Soaking in salt water
Baking on a low temp for an extended time
Boiling
Laying it outside to bake in the hot sun for several days
