I want to see photos of how you are making the most of vertical space in your tank. Do you have a second level? Do you use climbing toys, ladder’s, netting, vines, logs, turtle docks or shower caddies? It’s really important that you make full use of all the space in your tank and allow your crablets to fullfill their natural urge to climb.
ONe thing I need for my 20 gallon high is a shower caddy, but all the ones I have found are too big. I keep looking though. I have a toothbrush / soup holder with suction cups that i use for the moss pit. and I have a piece of choa going up to it. They love that
This is my 40 gallon Hermit Crab tank. I use a %100 Eco-Earth and have a separate sand pit. I have multiple caves and LOTS of logs for them.
Pam they choya is always a favorite! I’ve never done the shower caddy but I have some old school turtle docks that are perfect when upside down. However they are no longer sold and the suction cups on my won’t hold anymore 🙁 It was perfect for a moss pit tho.
Max I love all your logs!
Nice! I actually went out and bought some suction cups for holding netting up. My hermits love the higher perches.
Thanks Stacy, I have a house on a lake and driftwood is VERY common.
Great photos! I can’t wait to get started with my 4Ft 78G tank.
I am jealous Vanessa!!
Pam it looks great!
Max we have driftwood here (I live by the Mississippi river) but I’m afraid of parasites.
Yeah, I am usually afraid of that too. Here are the steps to get rid of them:
1- Soak the log in chlorinated water
2- Put in the oven at 425 for desired amount of time
Those steps will rid of parasites
