I have the opportunity to move my crab tank to the living room upstairs which will be great but I have a concern that I might have 2 crabs down for molting. I would not be tearing the tank down just moving it. Do you think it would be ok or should I wait?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

If you are not tearing it down how will you move it? Surely it will be extremely heavy?
If you can manage it then I think it would be ok.

You could dig a circle around the molters and lift them out of the tank while still in the soil. Then you could disassemble as planned. I did this with multiple hermit crabs and they have still had successful molts.

    wish i could post here

I had to move both my tanks after I had crabs down in one. I was lucky enough to have enough men around that we moved them on their sturdy benches without removing a thing. All crabs survived and no tank was broken. I would be afraid to move them without the benches supporting the tanks. How did your move go, Pam?

Well i got into the suv and drove it up the driveway back in December and loaded back on the dolly. Thank goodness for the SUV. Worked out well.
