Social Media Moderator Role

social-media-ballCSJ is looking for a few enthusiastic people to step into the role of Social Media Moderator.

We are looking for mods for the following platforms:

Instagram
Twitter
Facebook

The role of Social Media Moderator involves collaboration with CSJ admin to publish relevant content, develop brand awareness, educate, build community membership and involvement.

The Social Media Mod should be a highly motivated individual with social media experience and a passion for promoting CSJ through sharing relevant content, blogging, community engagement and participation. This role requires excellent people skills and daily involvement with our user base/followers in a tactful and non confrontation manner as well as a solid understanding of the requirement for proper care of land hermit crabs. The Social Media Mod should be comfortable with the use and functionality of all social media platforms and fully understand how to share content between platforms. Using questionable tactics to build followers or ranking will not be tolerated.

Candidates will possess
The knowledge and ability to advocate proper care of land hermit crabs
Technical skills and comfort level with all Social Media platforms
Excellent people skills and winning social customer service techniques
Excellent writing and language skills
A great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situation and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.

Engagement
Our Social Media Mod will listen, respond, ask questions and engage with our audience. There should be careful consideration on how you respond. People will ask questions and you should have knowledge and/or experience to respond correctly or let them know you will respond back as soon as you have an answer. Promoting or suggesting questionable care techniques or personal opinions is strongly discouraged. Whenever possible link to articles on CSJ to back up the answer given. Outreach and building our audience is an important part of this role. Performing searches on the platform for ‘hermit crabs’ and reaching out and engaging with new people is expected.

Essential Duties
Social Media day-to-day activities including:
Curate and post relevant content (images, video, written) – must be from reliable sources or websites
Monitor, listen and respond to users
Develop and expand community
Manage and promote social media contests when asked
