Better trap, mason jar with saran wrap stretched over the top and held in place by a rubber band. Poke small holes in the film with a toothpick. Flies crawl in and cannot leave. Also works well with apple cider vinegar.

When I order food in large quantities, I lay them out in a food saver bag, remove the air with the machine and freeze. Been contemplating a small fridge just for the animal room.

Very strange, the social insects like ants operate their societies by chemical smells (pheromones). It’s entirely possible that they are picking up and undetectable chemical (pheromone) emitted by your husband. Any changes in medications, bath soaps or things like that lately?

Too funny Stacy, must be a crabby connection. lol. Anne, I currently have 6 C. clypeatus (PP’s). that are still with me after many years and a move half way across the country. Currently working (3 years now) on a book about land crabs in captivity. Hoping to start putting together a crabitat in the spring for a small herd of E’s.

I’m Greg. New member here, but not new to crab keeping. I have kept hermits since my teenage years (many many decades ago). LOL. I am an entomologist and have always been fascinated by the world of creatures with more than 4 legs. Was a very active member here, but have taken off a few years.
